There had been 17 occupants including 12 girls within the ages of 16 and 17 the latter of whom had failed in the Ordinary Level Examination. These girls have been sold as prostitutes for a payment in exchange from external elements, it was revealed by now. A person who had been living in a forest environment in Hantana yesterday had given a telephone call to the police and had notified a group of girls who were stranded there were seeking assistance to inform the police about an issue they were confronted with.

As such, the police who went in search of the informed address were able to see a group of girls who were under the security of members in the neighbourhood. The girls were in a state of shock an on an enquiry made by the police they were informed that since the girls had failed in the Ordinary Level Examination last year and that their results were weak they had said that their parents had faced the relevant expenditure and had sent them to this training hostel. The girls had described how they were prohibited from using the telephone there and that their parents were reserved only one visit to meet them for a month and further that they were not allowed to go beyond the limits of the hostel premises. The girls also mentioned that on the understanding of the administrator of the institute they had been subjected to sexual prey one by one, by outside individuals. Whatever it is, because of the rules and regulations imposed by the hostel they were compelled to spend their time in frustration and pressure during the past.

Finally this group of girls had been successful in scooting away from the hostel concerned. The closest incident related to this situation was that after a certain alcoholic party which was supposed to have been held at the hostel a group of distinguished persons in the area who had attended the occasion had taken steps to engage in sexual activity with the girls once more. At that moment they had found the key of the room of the hostel from where it was hidden and had managed to break open the door and later scooted off to the forest in the proximity. While straying about in the forest like this the girls had come across some people in the neighbourhood and they had assisted in informing the incident to the police. After the 119 was contacted, all this information was revealed to the police.

The hostel concerned had enrolled these girls across newspaper advertisements and had secured a sum of Rs. 140000 from a single girl for 6 months for training in the hostel. Information was received that 5 others in addition to to the 12 girls who had run away from the hostel were stuck in the hostel and the police had taken measures to rescue them too. News is being revealed that subjecting these girls in the hostel for sexual activities has been carried on for the sake of money. The police are conducting further investigations.
