Mahela's walk causes traffic jam on Colombo streets
In order to raise funds for the proposed cancer hospital to be constructed close to the Karapitiya Teaching hospital in Galle renowned cricketers Mahela Jayawardena and Kumar Sangakkara had organized a walk from Jaffna to Dondra.
A part of the walk had commenced from 6 am today from the Galle face to Moratuwa. Hence the
police has decided to restrict the traffic floor owing to this walk.They have requested the drivers to use alternate roads.The walk is to proceed from Galle Face to Kollupitiya and from Kollupitiya will be proceeding towards Wellawatta and from there to walk in the opposite direction towards Moratuwa,
In the following days the walk would proceed towards Dondra.
