Ranjan request the JVP to drop the media deal issue

During the recent past the government  had directed  certain allegations at the media. In this regard the JVP had been in  suspicious stand which was clarified by  the deputy minister Ranjan Ramanayake by making a speech in parliament as follows:

" Today the media freedom has been given by the government. We know well that earlier during media discussions the media personnel did not have a
backbone to ask questions. But today on behalf of the public the media personnel do pose questions without any barrier. At the same time there are media personnel who go to boutique on behalf of murderers and thieves.

The worst attack on the yahapalanaya government's media freedom was issuing an international  warrant made on the editor of the web site Lanka E News to arrest him.We had seen the Lanka E News as a website that speak of the truth.Today  the  web site had exposed some ministers who had been involved in murders and corrupt activities. The Lanka E News web site and a number of social web sites had done a massive contribution to form the Yahapalanaya government. This we should not be shamed to tell.

Today there are two persons who are ministers in our government. One is the minister of Justice Wijedasa Rajapaksa and the other the attorney at law who appeared for Duminda Silva  who was sentenced to death Hemantha Warnakulasuriya.

"Last week a peculiar incident took place. For the first time in our history a female Judge visits  Duminda Silva former member of parliament sentenced to death at Welkada. Thereafter making the law foolish the person sentenced to death is taken out of prison to be admitted to a private hospital. However the private hospital had refused to accept admission of the patient hence the prisoner was taken back.

This is an example of taking the law of the country as a joke. This news was first published by Lanka E News.Because of it the Judge was sent on compulsory leave.Barring a few newspapers this was not a news to others.Even the brothers of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna had stayed as if they were unaware of this news.

Just imagine a prisoner serving a death sentence been attempted to be entered to a private hospital and a Judge meeting the prisoner personally. This should have been spoken by brother Anura Kumara Dissanayake in parliament. He had said in his own words " Lajjai Ammapa mehema Anduwak".He could have made this issue more eventful but he did not do so.Why was that?
Was it because this person was a member of parliament in the previous government? No. Because the family is the owner of a popular media institution in the country. If we speak on this issue our news would not be exposed by them .We will not be given a chance. Is that the reason?
All are scared to speak about it as a large media institution would get angry. The greatest harm would be for me,I know. After this was spoken my news and on art were not published.

I appeal to the President and the Prime Minister to intervene to the Lanka E News incident. If there are allegations take appropriate steps to investigate. But not allow the Minister- Judge combination to make a  deal."
