Because of a telephone call to IGP Nilame's entire lineage exposed
At a media briefing held today in Rajagiriya the adviser of the anti corruption front Keerthi Tennakoon had elaborated that owing to a telephone call that was given by the former Nilame of the Devinuwara devale Dishan Wickremaratne to the Inspector general of police has given rice to exposing a number of bribery and corrupt activities.
At the media briefing it was added that the bribery and corrupt activities that had occurred between
year 2012 to 8th January 2015 involving the former Nilame had been exposed.It is reported that a number of investigations involving him when served as the Chairman of Lanka Mineral sands corporation are been investigated.The investigations are been held for:
1.For purchasing materials for a non existent factory.
2.A loan of Rs 500 million obtained from Bank of Ceylon to import materials to construct a factory for Lanka mineral sands corporation and selling them outside.
3.A sum of Rs million 40 withdrawn from the account of Lanka mineral sands corporation with the proposal to make a beach park in Hambantota misused.
4.Had obtained Rs 55 lakhs for renting out two vehicles with fake number plates and documents for the use of the authorities of the Presidential secretariat.
5. Had been a government employee but never produced assets and liabilities statements.
6. For deploying 39 employees of the Lanka mineral sands corporation for work in the Devale.
