The Government has taken initiatives to launch cultivation in a large extent of land in the Eastern Province. It includes the cultivation of paddy lands as well as highlands. A new programme is already in place to cultivate all lands within the Trincomalee, Ampara and Batticaloa Districts. Farmers have taken to the cultivation of lands
