The Katunayake Customs have successfully seized a haul of jewellery worth millions of rupees and embedded with pearls and diamonds shrewdly concealed in 86 pairs of shoes. The suspect is a Sri Lankan who had arrived from Bangkok. Deputy Customs Director Parakrama Basnayake said that the value of the jewellery has not yet been assessed.
