An Indian national has been intercepted by Airport Customs at the Katunayake International Airport for attempting to smuggle tablets used for abortion. The 32-year-old suspect had arrived from Delhi aboard flight UL 196 at 10.20 pm yesterday. He had attempted to smuggle out 16,000 tablets through green channels, by concealing them within his hand luggage.
