Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe says that steps will be taken to protect Theravadi Buddhism and to conserve the Maha Viharaya. The Prime Minister mentioned this while attending the function to launch renovations of Kuliyapitiya, Dangagamuwa Sudharmarama Historic Raja Maha Viharaya. It has been done under the project to preserve 12 thousand temples in the country.
