President Maithripala Sirisena states that potato farmers will be given a 100 percent subsidy on seed potatoes. The President also said that measures will be taken to stop tea re-exportation. A rally in Badulla was held under the aegis of the President to ensure the victory of the UPFA at the upcoming Local Government Elections.
