The members of the Maha Sangha have commended the measures taken through the budget proposals to uplift Pirivena education.
The objective of the government is to improve facilities provided to the Pirivenas to uplift education through this year’s budget proposals.
The President stated that the objective is to increase the number of Pirivena students by 25 percent during 2016. It is expected to grant 500,000 rupees to each Pirivena to improve buildings, computer facilities and school equipment. He said that facilities such as distress loans, loans on property and railway warrants provided to teachers, will be extended to the Pirivena teachers as well.
