Presidents and state leaders who are in the island to participate in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting hold bilateral talks with the Sri Lankan President.
Bilateral discussions between President of the Nauru Republic Baron Wakar and President Rajapaksa were held this morning. The President of Nauru told the President Rajapaksa that although this was his first visit to the island, he considered Sri Lanka a country very close to him. He extended an invitation to the Sri Lankan President to visit his country.
Vice President of Nigeria Mohamed Namadi Zambo held a bilateral discussion with President at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Convention Centre in Colombo this morning. The President told him that Sri Lanka has given priority to further expanding and solidifying existing bilateral relations maintained with African countries. The President invited Nigerian Vice President to stay after the conference and tour the country.
Also the Governor General of Tuvalu Takobe Italeli met Presient Rajapaka at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Convention Centre this morning. He told the President that he is extremely happy to visit Sri Lanka. He also said he is pleased to see Sri Lanka’s preparation on behalf of the Commonwealth Summit.
