Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe has emphasized that the country’s freedom will not be betrayed in the face of any international influence. He said they will surmount these challenges with nations supporting Sri Lanka.

The Minister pointed out that three resolutions against Sri Lanka were tabled at the Human Rights Council in Geneva. These challenges were and would be continued to be confronted with vigour. No force will be permitted to destroy the freedom achieved with strong dedication. Countries represented at the Human Rights Council are divided over the Sri Lankan issue. While some countries including the United States make queries on human rights in Sri Lanka, many other countries have lauded the victories achieved by the island nation after routing terrorism. However, Minister Samarasinghe asserted that Sri Lanka will not halt its victorious journey in face of international pressure.

The Minister was addressing the annual sessions of the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka as the Chief Guest. Many local as well as foreign representatives attended the sessions held in Colombo.
