An LTTE loyalist who visited Malaysia to commemorate the birthday of terrorist leader Prabhakaran, has been apprehended.
The arrest was made by the Malaysian Police. Chief of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the man who was arrested is now being investigated under the 1948 Sedition Act. Six others surrendered over a crackdown on a Non-Governmental Organization which had organized the event in support of the LTTE. He said police investigations revealed that the NGO had invited the public to celebrate the birth anniversary of LTTE leader Prabhakaran.
The police saw the event as an attempt to influence people to believe in violence-oriented activities. The Police Chief said they viewed this as an act or attempt to influence or incite the people to engage in terrorism.
