The National Safety Day will be observed tomorrow.
The 9th anniversary of the Tsunami disaster will be observed tomorrow. Thousands of lives were lost in various coastal areas including the south on 26th December 2004 due to the Tsunami. Substantial damage was also caused to property. Those who lost their lives due to various disasters including the Tsunami will be commemorated tomorrow.
Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said the ceremony will be held under the patronage of the President. The Ministry of Disaster Management has called on the people to observe a 2 minute silence from 9.25 to 9.27 tomorrow morning. Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said that all preparations are in place in this connection.
