Sunetha's funeral rites ... amid tears and wailings of thousands
Senith Wijeysingha of Ananda College, the small prince bade goodbye to everybody last evening (Jan 23) in the midst of tears and wailings of parents, teachers, students, fiends and comrades. His final rites was conducted at the Talahena General Cemetery. Thousands including parents, teachers and students were seen present on the occasion.
Buddhist religious religious rituals were performed in a simple manner at Senith's grandfather's residence at Pothuarama road in Malabe prior to the final rites.
Senitha was compelled to leave his life here on earth as a result of the most unanticipated accident which took place at Ananda College playground on the morning of 21st. That tragical incident became a most heartrending news to all students and parents alike.
The small steps of small Sinetha will no more be seen in the compound of his home and college grounds. No more will his innocent words which were heard by his parents and his teachers be heard anymore. Sinetha ... your innocent image will forever echo in the minds of your parents, sisters, teachers and friends.
May you be a small flower that bloom once again in samsara .... never to wither again ... darling Sinetha.
