European tiger Diaspora splits on a financial scam

Add comments

The tiger Diaspora in Europe splits. Our ITN correspondent Srimal Pathiraja reporting from Italy attributed this development to clashes which had erupted with respect to a financial scam.

Splitting the European Tamil Diaspora, the British Tamil Forum has left the Global Tamil Forum. As a result the leader of the Global Tamil Forum and the Spokesman are embroiled in a dispute. The British Tamil Forum has called on the Tamils living in Britain not to provide any funds to the Global Tamil Forum. This decision is reported to have been taken due to non-revelation of the groups orchestrated by the Global Tamil Forum, lack of democratic norms in the Forum and the non-disclosure of the funds received by it.

The British Tamil Forum has accused that it had not been given an opportunity of including one of their representatives in the Global Tamil Forum which was launched by Tamil Organizations of 14 countries. This clearly indicates that the Tamil Diaspora which is operative in 14 European countries has fragmented and is now witnessing how the Tamils are refraining from expressing support to the LTTE.

Part of the accusations the LTTE outfit planned to be moved at the Geneva sessions to be held in March is reported to be paralyzed. As such our correspondent reported that Sri Lanka’s foreign policy has further strengthened following the split of the Diaspora along with this decision.
