A small student faced a tragic death following an accident involving a cricket pitch hand roller.
This unfortunate incident that happened at the Colombo Ananda College Grounds is now a thing of the past.
Senitha Bandara Wijesinghe faced this tragic death not only leaving his grieving father, mother and two sisters but also the entire country. This little child was playing with his friends in the College Grounds. They would have been engaged in their usual play not knowing that such a tragic incident was in the offing. But it happened. Senith bid farewell. His friends lost a dearly beloved playful friend. Senith traversed his last journey to the Talahena cemetery on the 23rd of this month leaving his mother, father, relatives and friends in grief. The seven day almsgiving pinkama was held last Sunday. Many strangers too were present on the occasion. The programme drew to a close that day.
But how can Senith’s friends in Grade Four forget him. How can Senith’s class teacher considered as a stepmother forget him.
A Pinkama was held at the Grade Four class of Ananda College Colombo today. It was a Sangika Dana offered to invoke merits on Senith. The Ven. Ravanagoda Gnanarathana Thera delivered a Dhamma Sermon. His friends as well as the parents joined in this Pinkama.
Senith’s classroom still remains as it is and so are his colleagues.
