Many benefits for the Northwestern Province under Deyata Kirula

The people of the Northwestern Province are receiving many benefits under Deyata Kirula. Development Projects are still in progress.

The water supply schemes of the Wayamba University in Kuliyapitiya and the Technical College constructed at a cost of 190 million rupees under the Deyata Kirula National Development Programme were declared open under the patronage of Deputy Minister Nirupama Rajapaksa. This will help to meet the drinking water needs of visitors to the Deyata Kirula Development Exhibition. It will also help to meet the water requirements of the Wayamba University and the Technical College. Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya and Northwestern Governor Tissa R. Balalla were among those present on the occasion.

The rural roads of the Mahaweli H Zone are being developed under Deyata Kirula. The Mahaweli Authority in collaboration with Farmer Organizations in the area are contributing to this task.100 kilometres of roadways will be developed. The first stage of the programme was launched from the Meegalewa Mahawelitenna village under the auspices of Parliamentarian Tharanath Basnayake.

Construction work on the Tourist Information Centre in the Puttalam District under Deyata Kirula has reached the final stage. The Economic Development Ministry has allocated 58.9 million rupees for this work. Minister Piyankara Jayaratne inspected the construction work.
