President instructs officials to the sectors to which attention should be drawn in formulating economic policies
The President has issued instructions to Senior Government Officials on which sectors require dire attention when implementing the country’s development initiatives and crafting economic policies.
The National Economic Council met under the patronage of President Rajapaksa at Temple Trees this morning. The meeting deliberated on the sectors to which attention should be drawn with respect to the country’s future initiatives and the crafting and implementation of the economic policies.
The meeting took cognizance of economic growth and the meticulous dissemination of development statistics. Finance Secretary Dr. P.B. Jayasundera, Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabral, Prime Minister’s Secretary S. Samarasekara, Secretary to the Ministry of Power and Energy M.D. Fernando, Secretary to the Ministry of Technology and Research Dhara Wijetilake, President of the Sri Lanka Economic Association Prof. S. Indraratne and many senior officials were present.
