The scouts who have come to the Asia Pacific Scout Leaders Summit, met President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Temple Trees yesterday. The President as the Chief Scout of Sri Lanka welcomed them officially. A group of people including Chairman World Scout Movement Sinam Hang, Secretary General Scott Tear, Asia Pacific Chairman Chao Shaw Paw and Sri Lanka’s Scout Commissioner Professor Nimal de Silva were present on the occasion. The Asia Pacific Scout Leaders Summit commenced yesterday in Negombo with the participation of more than 200 scout leaders from 30 countries. The Summit has been organized by the Sri Lanka Scout Association and Asia Pacific Office of World Scout Movement. This is the first time that such a summit is taking place in the country.
