Two New Trade Zones which will generate new employment avenues for 8000 young men and women in the North are to be launched.
These jobs will be available for the youth following the construction of the new Trade Zones within the Jaffna and Vavuniya Districts. Construction is now in progress and the estimated cost of 5000 million rupees.
The New Trade Zones are being built at Kondavil in Jaffna and at Omanthai in Vavuniya. A notable feature is the willingness expressed by investors in the South to invest in these Zones.
Northern Governor G.A. Chandrasiri inspected the construction work of these Trade Zones. The Governor announced that plans are afoot to launch more programmes to meet the employment requirements of the young men and women of the North.
