Former Central Province Minister Saliya Dissanayake has passed away. He was 49.
Saliya Dissanayake passed away at the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital last night after a prolonged illness.
He entered politics from the Sri Lanka Freedom Party in the year 1994. He was a former Chairman of the Central Provincial Council as well as a Minister. He was the youngest brother of Minister S.B. Dissanayake and a father of two children. The remains of Saliya Dissanayake are now lying at his residence at Madanwala in Hanguranketha.
The funeral is scheduled to take place at the Hanguranketha Public Burial grounds on Monday.
