The decision taken by the Sri Lankan Government to proscribe 16 LTTE Front Organization has earned praise from the Indian Government.
The Sri Lankan Government took the initiative of banning 16 outfits and 424 persons loyal to the tigers after uncovering details of their involvement in terrorist activities. Sri Lanka also took the initiative of giving information to the INTERPOL on persons who are contributing to terrorist activities. India said that these measures adopted by the Sri Lankan Government deserve praise. According to the Times of India newspaper, India emphasized that no support should be given to any person or organization involved in terrorist activities.
The Indian newspaper mentioned that a person who is reported by the Sri Lankan Government to be maintaining links with a terrorist outfit was apprehended at the Airport on arrival in India from Britain.
