Vietnam is ready to enter into several agreements with Sri Lanka to further solidify relations in many spheres.
Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung during talks with Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne who is on an official tour of Vietnam made this references during official discussions between them. He praised Sri Lanka’s achievements over the past years. The Vietnamese Prime Minister suggested that the two nations support each other at multi-lateral forums, boost economic, trade and tourism cooperation, sign a bilateral agreement on trade and a cooperative plan between the two nations’ Finance Ministries as well as set up a sub-committee on commerce.
Prime Minister Jayaratne elaborated to his Vietnamese counterpart, the rapid development taking place in Sri Lanka since ending terrorism.
