This morning a train which was parked at Pothuhera, Kurunegala railway station and the two engines of Raja Rata had collided with each other and it is reported that about 68 were injured while 4 are in a serious condition.
It was learnt that among the casualties were infants, an army soldier and a railway guard.
An eye witness had said that the sound of a collision was heard and simultaneously one compartment had collapsed to a 'wela' while two other compartments had leaned against a building.
The accident had happened with the two engines of the two trains knocking against each other. Those injured have been hospitalised. It was understood that 4 persons are serious.
