The Transport Ministry has emphasized that it will deliberate with the Trade Unions concerned with respect to issues in the railway sector and find immediate solutions.
Expressing his views Deputy Minister Rohana Dissanayake said that several disputes surfaced in the operations trains in the past few days. All measures have been taken to sort out the issues as a result of the talks held with the train drivers. A programme should be launched in the future taking into consideration the safety, the needs and facilities of the commuters in agreement with the Department of the Railways.
He revealed that all necessary initiatives have been taken in this respect. He emphatically mentioned that within the next few days they would solve the issues and cater to the needs of the commuters. Deputy Minister Dissanayake assured that nothing will be done to cause hindrance to the commuters.
