A group of tiger loyalists including Vaiko which staged a protest against the President’s Indian tour has been apprehended.
The New Delhi Police arrested a group including DMK Party Leader Y Gopalswamy alias Vaiko for staging a protest against the invite extended to President Rajapaksa to join in the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi as the Indian Prime Minister and his tour of India.
The protest has been staged in the Chandar area in New Delhi.
A special security network was in place in New Delhi in view of the State leaders who were participating in the Indian Prime Minister’s inauguration. As a result, the Indian media reported that Vaiko and his supporters were rounded up for defying prohibitory orders.
