A mega irrigation project has been launched in Badulla at a cost of more than 110 billion rupees.
The project will cover Badulla, Hali Ela and Ella areas. More than 100 thousand will be benefitted from the project. The inauguration of the project was held under the patronage of Ministers Dinesh Gunawardena, Nimal Siripala de Silva, Dilan Perera and Lakshman Seneviratne. Parliamentarians Chamika Buddadasa, Uditha Lokubandara, Rohana Pushpakumara and Uva Province Governor Nanda Mathew were present on the occasion. The Ministry of Drainage and Water Supply has financed the project.
