The issue of students of Allied Health Course has been addressed. The written solution has been despatched to all Universities.
Objections were raised by University students for limiting the study period of the Allied Health Course from four to three years.
Several rounds of discussions were held to sort out the problem. During a recent discussion held with the mediation of the President, it was agreed to complete the course Allied Health Course so that 120 credits could be obtained.
It received the assent of all parties concerned. Accordingly, the Ministry of Higher Education decided to hold it as a four year course.
Chairman of the University Grants Commissioner Prof. Kshanika Hirimburegama announced that all Universities were today informed in writing the decision taken with respect to the Allied Health Course.
