President opens new Computer Laboratory and three storeyed building of Thurstan College

The President has declared open the new Computer Laboratory and the three-storeyed building of Thurstan College Colombo.

President Rajapaksa who arrived at Thurstan College in Colombo for the opening of the new Computer Laboratory and the three storeyed building initially participated in religious observances at the Buddhist Shrine Room of the College.


Managing Director of K.D. Ebert Company K.D. Indika Daranagama put up the building for the new Computer Laboratory using the 100 computers the President received from China marking the centenary of the Chinese Communist Party. The President while inspecting the Computer Laboratory exchanged pleasantries with the students.

The President who then arrived for participation in the ceremony organized in this respect received a memento from the School Principal Daya Bandara to mark his arrival.

A student in a brief speech was thankful for the vesting of the Computer Laboratory and the three-storeyed building in them.

Minister Bandula Gunawrdena, Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to the Maldives Dickson Dela, China’s Deputy Ambassador Ten Faking, Principal of Thurstan Brawe Col. Daya Bandara, Principals of surrounding schools and past pupils were among the large gathering present.

The President did not forget to exchange pleasantries with the staff and the past pupils at the end of the function.
