A person who attempted to smuggle out a stock of Wallapatta to Sharjah has been apprehended at the Katunayake Airport. 26 kilograms of Wallapatta has been recovered from the possession of the suspects. The Katunayake Customs said its value was in the region of around 20 million rupees. Customs Media Spokesman Leslie Gamini said that the suspect had attempted to smuggle out the Wallapatta stock after stashing it in his baggage. He said that the suspect is a resident of Grandpass. Investigations are continuing.
