Britain is looking forward to establishing the first UK Direct Campus of South Asia in Sri Lanka. This has been revealed by British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka John Rankins
The British High Commissioner was speaking at a commemorative ceremony organized in parallel to the 88th birthday of Queen Elizabeth the Second. The Queen’s birthday commemoration was held at the British High Commission premises under the patronage of First Lady Shiranthi Wickremasinghe Rajapaksa. Several Parliamentarians including Minister Douglas Devananda and foreign diplomats were invited for the occasion.
British High Commissioner John Rankin and Minister Douglas Devananda extended greetings on behalf of the Queen. Speaking further at this function the British High Commissioner said that some 4000 Sri Lankan students are pursuing studies in British Universities.
