The Civil Aviation Services Authority Office Complex located within the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport has been opened. The opening took place with the participation of Minister Piyankara Jayaratne, Deputy Minister Geethanajana Gunawardena and Paliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa. The office complex will handle the regulation process of the civil aviation service activities. The expenditure incurred on the project was 43 million rupees. The Civil Aviation Service Authority will accord maximum security to the Airport as well as for air travel. It was also awarded the international certificate in this respect. Expressing his views on the occasion, Minister Piyankara Jayaratne said that the number of flights arriving in the island has surged with the enthronement of peace. Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa revealed of plans to establish a Centre to train international Aviation Service officials under the Mattala International Airport and also to launch an Aviation Service Industrial Colony. Chairman of the Civil Aviation Services Authority General Rohan Daluwatte and Vice Chairman of the Civil Aviation Services Company Kamal Ratwatte were among those present on the occasion.
