The Airport Customs have seized a haul of cigarettes
brought to the country illegally.
The stock was detected when passengers who had come in a flight from Dubai were being examined. Two women and two men were taken into custody along with the cigarettes. They had attempted to smuggle in the cigarettes concealing them in their baggage.
The Airport Customs said that the value of the stock exceeded 1.8 million rupees. Among those arrested were two Muslims while the other two were Tamils.
