The two suspects who were arrested for crafting a false website and engaging in a large scale employment scam are remanded. The person who prepared the website was enlarged on a cash bail of 500 thousand rupees.
The Police arrested a suspected couple who had been engaged in a large scale fraud promising jobs in South Korea after creating a website akin to the website of the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment.
The Criminal Investigations Department making submissions to Colombo Chief Magistrate Gehan Pilapitiya producing the suspects in Court said that they were apprehended on a complaint made by the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment. The CID said that they needed time to conduct further investigations. Taking into consideration the submission the Magistrate remanded the two main suspects until the 16th of this month and ordered the Police to submit a report on the progress of the inquiries.
