The Sri Lanka Geospatial Forum for Defence and Nation Building was held in Colombo today.
Organized by the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development, the National Conference on Geoinfomatics was attended by a large gathering including high officials of the Army, the Navy, the Air Force and the Police and officials in charge of Special Defence Projects as well as many resource contributors to the geo physical field.
In his address to the conference, Army Chief of Staff Major Gen. Prasad Samarasinghe said that a special task could be discharge based on geo physical data in activities related to defence and urban development. The meeting was held targeting the building of a secure and developed nation in affiliation to the geo physical field.
Addresses were delivered by defence and intelligence chiefs who represented various international organizations. Chief of Defence Staff General Jagath Jayasuriya and senior officials of the Security forces were among the large gathering present.
