39 Sri Lankan fishermen have been released strengthening Indo-Lanka relations. They will arrive in the country during the next few days. The Government of Sri Lanka released many Indian fishermen who were under custody, on the instructions of the President. Indian media reported that India released the Sri Lankan fishermen as a response. The fishermen were reported to be gone on fishing from Negombo, Dondra and Trincomalee. Indian officials have taken steps to release them without a judicial process.
