The second debate on the 19th Amendment and the final poll in this connection would be taking place today in parliament.

After a short while later, the vote will be called  at 6 p.m. on the historical decision concerning the powers vested on the Executive President of Sri Lanka. Political sources say that until the last moment the position is disputable. Professor Sarath Wijeysuriya on behalf of the Puravesi Balaya (People's Power) Organisation mentions that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party is ready to launch a conspiracy at the last moment when the vote is taken. If that happens, they point out that the President should take steps to dissolve the parliament immediately. In the process, Deputy Minister Mr. Harsha Silva has expressed his ideas in his Facebook Account today that the 19th Amendment has been subjected to a problem. He has also added a photograph to his Facebook Account of MP Dinesh Gunawardena, Professor G.L. Pieris, Dallas Alahapperuma and Mahindananda Aluthgamage engaging in a discussion and states that they are trying to create a crisis.

The Opposition has expressed their protest against two clauses that have been added to the 19th Amendment. They have brought to surface a problematic situation in relation to the Cabinet being appointed and the National Constitutional Committee.
