If the summoning of Mahinda to Bribery is wrong stop it via a court order - Ranil
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe has said in parliament on the 20th instant that he has no
intention of harassing former president Mahinda Rajapaksa. He had said that the former president has been summoned to the Bribery and Corruption unit for questioning on the manner former secretary general of United National party was offered a Ministerial portfolio after crossing over to the former government from the then opposition.Prime Minister Ranil Wicremasinghe had also quipped that if the protestors think that it is against the law to file a case in courts and get a restraining order. He also had emphasised that this could be made through the lawyers of the former president. The Prime minister squashed off allegations made against him that he had instigated the Bribery and Corruption unit in this regard. However he had further said that he had only made the activities of the Bribery and Corruption unit smoother by providing them with needed facilities.
