The banning of eight Tamil Non-governmental Organizations has been lifted. They were banned on suspicion that they aided and abetted the LTTE. The Defence Ministry said that the ban was lifted through a special gazette notification. The Ministry said that the list has been prepared under the order No.1 of UN Act 2012 of 1948
