Investigations on video are been carried out to identify the 37 including Bikkhus who played havoc at Homagama
After the verdict was given to arrest Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara thera by the Honmagama magistrate group of people including Bikkhus has assaulted police officers and done damage to
property by behaving in an unruly manner. It is reported that three groups of police personnel have been deployed to identify the suspected 37 persons including Bikkhus via avideo recordings made at this scene.The Homagama magistrate had ordered these suspects to be arrested. The police groups attending to this exercise had said that the 37 persons including Bikkhus had been identified by them.
These suspects had behaved in this manner in an organised manner to request the general secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena organisation Ven. Galagada Aththe Gnanasara thera who was ordered to be arrested be released.
The police investigations had revealed that those who played havoc had even taken off the caps of the police officers , dropped them on the ground and even bitten their hands. The Bikkhus and the civil personnel who acted in this chaotic manner had now been identified via the video tapes it is reported.Those identified are to be arrested in the next two days had been disclosed by the teams in investigation.
The Inspector General of Police had said that a report on the behaviour the Bikkhus would be sent in a report to the Mahanayake theras of Malwatu and Asgiri chapters on the instructions of the Prime Minister Ranil wickremasinghe.
