Turkish Lady surprised after seeing donors queue at Supermatket
The number of those who have invaded Supermarkets in Colombo and around Colombo by donors to buy items even to the extent that there would be a shortage of such items these days could be witnessed quite easily. It is however quite a common sight for Sri Lankans to observe those coming forward to help each other most voluntarily.
However, a certain Turkish lady Engineer serving in Colombo was simply surprised to set her eyes on such a sight
and has gone ahead on making a notable comment on her Facebook Page. This Turkish lady who happens to be a Biological Engineer named Pinner Tunki who was serving at a private establishment in Colombo had been to the Arpico Supermarket in Union Place with the intention of purchasing some items for an Aid Programme of her institute on behalf of the misfortune experienced recently and had been thoroughly surprised at the long queue there.She says that apart from just a handful, what she had seen was that all others had come there with the purpose of buying essential items as Aid for those who were victims of this tragedy. When compared to her country Turkey, even when the average earnings of a majority of Sri Lankans were at a low level and coming forward to lend a helping hand in this manner she remarks was something which her eyes could not believe. She further comments that having seen this incredible sight, tears had welled in her eyes. She finally adds that she in no way understands this sense of wonderful humanity of this country and that she had never seen such a form of experience in Turkey or any other country.
