A stone hurled by an unidentified person at a moving train hurts and kills the deputy director of education

A very unfortunate incident has been reported when a stone hurled at a moving train by an unidentified person had struck the deputy director of education Central Province KA Pushpakumara injuring him seriously and killing him.

This unfortunate incident had been reported on the 03rd instant when stones and bottles were hurled
at the moving train which resulted in severe injuries to the head of the deputy director of education KA Pushpakumara.

After he was struck he had fallen onto the compartment of the train. However when the travellers and the officials in the train had wanted him to be taken to hospital which he had refused saying the injury was a minor one.

With the injuries and bleeding condition he had travelled up to Anuradhapura.A friend of his a school principal had also seen his condition .Although it was serious he had again said will go home and apply some medicine.

However a different friend had intervened and got him admitted to the Anuradhapura Teaching hospital. It is reported that after he was treated in the intensive care unit for four days he had succumbed to his injuries.
KA.Pushpakumara has been 49 years old and a father of three children.It is reported that his eldest daughter was to sit the GCE advanced level in Bio stream.
It is learnt that KA Pushkumara had left to Colombo to obtain approval for the payment for those who corrected the second term question papers. He had alighted the Anuradhapura bound intercity train at 3.55 pm when he had met with this unfortunate incident.

The officers of the Kelaniya police have started investigation to apprehend the culprits who stoned the train causing a death of a passenger.
