For medical treatment courts grant permission to Yoshitha one month to proceed to Melbourne,Australia
The Colombo High Courts Magistrate AAR Heiyandutuwa has allowed the request of Yoshitha Rajapaksa to proceed to Melbourne Australia for a period of one month for medical treatment.The request was kept until the 28th instant .Accordingly permission was granted on
the 28th instant.The attorney at law appearing for Yoshitha Rajapaksa had quipped that from during his school days he had excelled as a renowned rugger player.For a nagging injury which he had carried for sometime around his ankle he had sought permission from courts o travel to Melbourne Australia for treatment as his injury had aggravated.
He had been recommended this enhanced treatment by consultant orthopedic surgeon Dr Narendra Pinto when he had consulted the sports clinic for treatment for his ankle and the knee.
When the request was made initially it was refused as in a case at the Mt Lavinia Magistrate courts Yoshitha Rajapksa had not shown much interest in giving evidence and also as he some.cases pending filed by the financial crimes investigating unit.Another reason was that there had not been mentioned that in Sri Lanka there are no hospitals to attend to his ailments.
He had been allowed to travel overseas as still he has not been convicted of all charges filed against him.Hence under these circumstances Yoshitha Rajapaksa had been allowed to travel overseas for a period of one month.
