A women crew posing as respectable ladies clad in saree are pickpockets in Matale town
It is reported that a crew of women well clad in sarees are loitering in the Matale town.They have been identified as pickpocket group after they had pickpocket- ted a purse of a elderly feeble woman which had contained Rs 80,000/-.When
investigations had begun on this issue the group have been identified as pickpockets.The police had been able to reveal on a number of other similar incidents they had been involved in.

They were behaving as top level ladies for no one to suspect them as pickpockets.The manner they robbed a feeble elderly lady in Matale town had been caught in CCTV cameras fixed in the Matale town.
It is reported that at times one of them have been used to carry a
small baby when loitering in the town.In order to identify and apprehend this gang of pickpockets the Matale police is seeking public support.
