Though Mr. Gemunu Wijeyratna has quipped that his association would not be participating in the private bus strike which is in operation today, as there are threats against bus-owners of his association, he too has joined hands with the strikers. Buses belonging to Gemunu Wijeyratna's private business which runs the 163 bus was not been running today. An attempt by the media to contact Mr. Gemunu Wijeyratna on a number of occasions to find his ideas in this connection failed because he had disconnected the telephone. An effort to find information by a Rupavahini channel was made by approaching him at his home on which occasion he had said that he is not in a position to make any comments on that topic. As such, it is seen that he now follows a silent attitude as the Chairman of Private Bus Owner's Association.
