The Welikanda Water Scheme constructed at the request of President Maithripala Sirisena, was declared open recently. The occasion was held under the guidance of a group of officers affiliated to the Sri Lanka Belgium Friendship Association. The water scheme has the capacity to purify ten thousand litres of water per day. This could meet the
