The Archbishop of Sri Lanka has said that the international community should not try to humiliate Sri Lanka.
Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith has said that Sri Lankans do not want terror of war. The country had enough of it. He said arms is enough and the spiritual heritage enriched by the teachings of the four great world religions do not permit them to go that way. In a special news release, he said that the international community should help in such a process of confidence building instead of seeking to humiliate Sri Lanka and dragging it before international tribunals.
The Cardinal said that the international community must help this nation in the right way by engaging positively with both sides, helping them to reach a better understanding, easing off the situation in the North and the South and allowing space for true progress and development for their people. Pushing anyone against the wall is not the way.
