Britain’s Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, the Duchess of Cornwall, who are in the island for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting visit several locations in Colombo. They are scheduled to visit Kandy and Nuwara Eliya tomorrow.
Prince Charles visited the National Museum in Colombo this morning. On his arrival at the Museum, Prince Chalres received a warm welcome from Minister Jagath Balasuriya. After visiting the Museum, Prince Charles also visited Laksala.
In the meantime the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parker Bowles paid a visit to the National Library this afternoon. Colombo Mayor A.J.M. Muzamil greeted the Duchess on her arrival at the Library. After joining in the Literary Festival at the Library auditorium, she handed over certificates to winners of essay and arts competitions organized in view of the Commonwealth Summit.
The Prince and the Duchess are due to tour Kandy and Nuwara Eliya tomorrow.
