“Reflection of Sri Lanka” Exhibition in progress

The “Reflection of Sri Lanka” Exhibition which displays to the world the pride of Sri Lanka’s economy was successfully held today too. The Exhibition is open to the public until Sunday the 17th from 10 am to 10 pm.


The opening of “Reflection of Sri Lanka” Exhibition took place at the Janakala Kendraya yesterday under the auspices of President Rajapaksa and First Lady Shiranthi Wickremasinghe Rajapaksa. The Exhibition is being organized targeting foreign investors and businessmen who are in the island in view of the Commonwealth Summit. Several significant features added colour to the Exhibition. A highlight was the conduct of the Exhibition with a new look, unlike exhibitions so far held in Sri Lanka. The Exhibition is based on a concept of Minister Basil Rajapaksa.

The Exhibition has 850 stalls of small and medium scale local entrepreneurs. Many visitors both local and foreign joined in viewing the Exhibition. Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne and several Parliamentarians also visited the Exhibition today.

In the meantime a colourful fireworks display was held yesterday after the opening of the Exhibition. It lasted about half an hour.
